A Safety Notice has been issued for red knit, PVC coated gloves, with the part numbers NF11 and NF11X. Through testing of these products for CE certification in 2018, Honeywell identified the presence of Azo dye, which includes trace levels of Benzidine. Honeywell notified the supplier who has remedied the issue with their raw material contamination and is working to support the return and re-fulfillment of these gloves shipped prior to January 1, 2019.

Product received after 1/1/2019 is Azo-dye and Benzidine free and therefore safe to use and distribute.  This has been verified by Honeywell with a third-party lab, for verification. 

 

We have assessed the gloves and the dye content and consider the risks from exposure to the red Azo dye that was used to be very low.  Nevertheless, Honeywell has undertaken this safety notice and return program to ensure it has regained control of the affected gloves.

It is important to note that red NF11 and NF11X glove product received after January 1, 2019 are free of the red dye that had the potential to contain trace quantity of benzidine-emitting Azo dye.   Therefore, there are no regulatory or other concerns with their use and distribution.

Product Quarantine Procedure

 

NF11 and NF11X product received before January 1, 2019:

• Use the visual indicators below to identify pre- vs. post- incident product.

• Identify and separate product, keep an inventory to submit using the Product Registration.

• Used product should be counted, but not returned. It can be disposed of per your sites’ regular disposal process.

• Complete the Product Registration at the bottom of this page.

• Return instructions and a prepaid return label will be issued to each customer with the affected product.  Once the affected gloves are received and processed at Stericycle, replacement product will be shipped free of charge.

 

Please note: No replacement gloves will be sent if the gloves are not returned, OR if the gloves returned are not impacted by this Safety Notice. Please confirm your gloves are part of the Safety Notice as new product will not be issued for unaffected product.
